The Thursday evening Bible study group heartily welcomes people to join in the new study which begins in April. Most of the Confirmation students would say "James? Where is that?" The book of James is actually a letter that was circulated among the first-century Christians. James was an important leader in the church at Jerusalem and watched the church develop from one hundred twenty to a congregation numbering thousands. He was also the brother of Jesus. James does not tell us how to live trouble-free but how to live when troubles hit. He helps us use words more carefully and constructively. The letter of James is best known for the people who don't like it, especially Martin Luther, the most famous one! Someone has said that reading the book James is like taking a cold shower: uncomfortable but invigorating. Hopefully your interest has been piqued and you will be able to join us on Thursday evenings from 19:30 to 21:00 at the home of Bob and Ruth Bakke.
